City of Wanneroo will be seeking expressions of interest from the local community for regular bookings of the new Pearsall Hocking Community Centre.
City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the new centre will provide modern, first-class facilities for local community groups.
“The new community centre will assist in providing a much needed addition to the Pearsall Hocking area for community groups to meet and interact,” Mayor Roberts said.
“The multipurpose facility has been designed to cater for a wide range of community activities and it will be a place that the community will be proud of and want to use,” she said.
Mayor Roberts said the new centre will help create a greater sense of community to the Pearsall and Hocking localities.
“The design and its location adjacent to the primary school and shopping precinct will create a real hub of positive activity which will support and enhance the development of the local community,” she said.
The $3.3million facility will include a large function room, activity room, meeting room and four office spaces. The centre will also have end of trip facilities for cyclists to shower and change.
The centre is due for completion in winter 2016 and it is anticipated it will be available for groups in spring 2016. The expressions of interest period will commence 30 May and close 27 June 2016.
