Making New Meaning from Old Textiles

Create a small artwork using simple stitching with Louise Wells.
Join us for 3 Saturday afternoon sessions (30 November, 7 and 14 December ) included in this price.
Using different stitches, machine sewing and your own imagination, you will create a small, unique artwork.
Bring along pieces of fabric or clothing which have meaning to you, and that you are willing to cut up and repurpose (can be worn out, stained, etc).
You will also need to bring a pen, pencil, notepad and some basic sewing supplies such as scissors, needles and threads.
Suitable for ages 16+
About Louise Wells
Lousie Wells is an artist based in Inglewood, who has a diverse art practice, ranging from small hand stitched works to large scale outdoor ephermeral sculptures. Her work is inspired by the lost beauty in the ordinary, domestic life, family stories, local history, observations on current events and the impacts of textile prodiction.

Santa Claus is coming to the Wanneroo Town Centre for the Christmas Fiesta! Enjoy a flurry of festivities including Christmas carols, market stalls, kids’ activities and a Santa parade.
Celebrate the magic of Christmas and have a jolly good time at the City of Wanneroo's Christmas Fiesta.
The Wanneroo Town Centre will come alive with Christmas cheer on Saturday 14 December with Christmas carols, free entertainment and a sack full of activities for the kids!
- The event will kick off with a lively Christmas Parade featuring festive floats and rousing routines from local groups and clubs.
- They’ll be plenty of rockin’ music and entertainment with performances on stage, as well as a variety of activities for the whole family.
- But that’s not all: There will also be a guest appearance from the big man in red!

The Royal Australian Navy Band
The Royal Australian Navy Band, West Australian Cover Band is a high energy ensemble specialising in a wide range of popular music. A traditional pop/rock group with expandable horn section facilitates a diverse musical capability; critical for its role supporting the Royal Australian Navy, Defence community and public events across Western Australia.
North Coast Community Choir
The North Coastal Community Choir is a nonprofit organisation welcoming children aged 5yrs to 16yrs who are enthusiastic and love to sing.
Jordan Anthony
Jordan is a local City of Wanneroo artist, who at only 14 years old became the youngest finalist ever in the 2019 season of “The Voice Australia”. Jordan has also represented Australia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest performing his song “We will Rise”. He’s has been writing his own music since he was just 7 years old. You may have seen him on this year’s American Idol where he made it to the top 14 contestant. Jordan has recently release his new song Don’t Ya with Mackenzie Sol
