Making New Meaning from Old Textiles

Create a small artwork using simple stitching with Louise Wells.

Join us for 3 Saturday afternoon sessions (30 November, 7 and 14 December ) included in this price.

Using different stitches, machine sewing and your own imagination, you will create a small, unique artwork.

Bring along pieces of fabric or clothing which have meaning to you, and that you are willing to cut up and repurpose (can be worn out, stained, etc).

You will also need to bring a pen, pencil, notepad and some basic sewing supplies such as scissors, needles and threads.

Suitable for ages 16+

About Louise Wells

Lousie Wells is an artist based in Inglewood, who has a diverse art practice, ranging from small hand stitched works to large scale outdoor ephermeral sculptures. Her work is inspired by the lost beauty in the ordinary, domestic life, family stories, local history, observations on current events and the impacts of textile prodiction.
