South-West Ward
Part of the City of Wanneroo local government area, the South-West Ward spans over 2,000 hectares. This ward has undergone extensive property development over recent years and is now home to more than 30,000 residents.
In 2022, construction will begin for the Landsdale Library and Youth Innovation Hub, which will consist of a new library, community and youth innovation hub.
The South-West ward is also home to the City’s premier indoor sporting facility, the Kingsway Indoor Stadium in Madeley, which has recently undergone upgrades to renew the change room and toilets. Further works are planned to improve the standard of service and customer experience at the facility.
As the largest suburb in the South-West ward, Lansdale stays true to its rural roots with nature walks and public parks to enjoy. Warradale Park is a highlight, featuring a recently added kids nature play area that was constructed after community consultation.
Wangara hosts the busiest industrial hub of the north side of Perth including the City’s Wangara Greens Recycling Facility. The suburb has a wide range of warehouses and industrial services, bringing booming businesses to the City of Wanneroo.
One of the Council priorities for the South-West Ward is the provision of community facilities, with Council advocating for opportunities for people to come together and connect at cultural, educational, social and sporting activities.
Suburbs include: east Woodvale, Wangara, Madeley, Darch, Landsdale, north-west Marangaroo.
