Reggae superstar Jimmy Cliff set to headline

Grammy award winning reggae artist Jimmy Cliff will headline the City of Wanneroo’s family friendly event, Global Beats & Eats presented by LiveLighter on Sat 11 April at Liddell Park, Girrawheen.
Cliff was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 2010 and has an international career spanning 40 years. He is best known for hits such as Wonderful World, Beautiful People, Vietnam, Many Rivers to Cross, I Can See Clearly Now and Wild World.
He has collaborated with The Rolling Stones, Annie Lennox and Elvis Costello and has had his songs covered by Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen and Cher.
Tickets to Global Beats & Eats presented by LiveLighter are free but essential, and will be available to the general public from 9am on Friday 3 April via the City of Wanneroo’s website and Facebook page.
Event attendees will be in for a real treat—in addition to Cliff’s infectious reggae tunes, there will be other global entertainers bringing music and dance from around the world, including Chilean pan pipe group Huraira, Kung Fu school performers The Lion Dancers, Indonesian dance group Selendang Sutra, the Nueva Salsa orchestra and breakdancing B Boys.
There will be plenty of internationally inspired foods to entice the tastebuds, including amazing Argentinean, delicious Dutch, luscious Lebanese, mouth-watering Malaysian, tasty Thai and much, much more.
There will be plenty of activities to keep the children entertained too, with face painting, a bouncy castle, drum workshops and maraca making sessions all on offer.
