Volunteers from the City of Wanneroo’s heritage and library services were acknowledged at an appreciation dinner on Fri 5 October in celebration of their hard work and commitment to the wider community
Mayor Tracey Roberts said it was important to take time out to thank our dedicated community members, and show gratitude for their commitment.
“The City could not deliver all the fantastic services and programs for our residents and visitors without our volunteers,” Mayor Roberts said.
“We are proud and humbled by the continued commitment our volunteers provide to our residents, and appreciation events provide us an opportunity to acknowledge their outstanding service,” she said.
“On behalf of our residents, I would like to extend a very big thank you to each volunteer who gives their time so selflessly, making a lasting difference to our community.”
The City has more than 500 active volunteers, including the 82 volunteers who donate their time to heritage and library services.
At Friday's function, held at the Wanneroo Civic Centre, volunteers from Buckingham House, Cockman House, the Community History Museum, City of Wanneroo libraries, and the Wanneroo Gallery were acknowledged.
The following volunteers were awarded the City's Volunteer Excellence Award for their invaluable service:
