Residents with children aged one to four years will now be able to access the meningococcal ACWY vaccine for free at City of Wanneroo immunisation clinics.
The vaccine has been added to the Western Australian Vaccination Schedule for 2018, after case numbers of the disease doubled in 2017 compared to 2016.
The City’s Health Services team provides a free immunisation service with clinics held every month throughout the year in Wanneroo and Merriwa.
Bookings can be made by calling Health Services on 9405 5000.
The meningococcal ACWY vaccine has also been added to the Year 10 school vaccination program.
The vaccine is also available at Department of Health clinics throughout the City.
Please note: appointments are necessary at all City of Wanneroo clinics.
