100,000 visitors and counting

Wanneroo Regional Museum has notched up an impressive milestone, welcoming more than 100,000 visitors through its doors.
The museum opened in the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre in late 2009, giving the community the opportunity to travel through time via a range of interactive displays and exhibits.
The milestone was achieved just prior to Christmas last year, with the museum averaging more than 1000 visitors each month.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said it was fantastic that more than 100,000 people had seen what the Wanneroo Regional Museum has to offer.
“Wanneroo has such a unique history, and our museum certainly paints the picture of what life was like for our traditional owners, early settlers and pioneers,” Mayor Roberts said.
“There are already some exciting projects planned for 2018, including a children’s activity trail for the April school holidays called ‘The Way Wanneroo Was’ and a display commemorating the centenary of the Armistice that ended the First World War in November.”
There are also plans to redevelop the migration exhibition, which will feature people’s objects and stories about migrating to Wanneroo – keep an eye out for more on this by visiting wanneroo.wa.gov.au.
