Seeking volunteers to share their story during Disability Awareness Week.
Published Monday, 30th October 2017
The City is calling out for volunteers who are interested in telling their personal story as either a person living with a disability or a carer of someone living with a disability.
To recognise Disability Awareness Week, a Living Books session will be held at Wanneroo Library on Tuesday 5 December // 10am – 12pm.
We are looking for volunteers who are interested in being one of our ‘Living Books’ and tell their personal story as either a person living with a disability or a carer of someone living with a disability.
Living Books is interactive storytelling where a person becomes a ‘book’ and allows participants to interact with them, challenging labels and preconceptions about others. Invited presenters will share their stories to small intimate groups with participants able to hear several stories during the session.
