Thousands of residents dig Dog’s Breakfast
Published Wednesday, 25th October 2017
Once again, Dog’s Breakfast has proved to be very popular with thousands of locals turning out at Kingsway Sporting Complex to experience the doggy extravaganza.
The family-friendly event attracted dog lovers and their furry friends who enjoyed the huge range of dog-related activities on offer.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said she was delighted to see so many community members enjoy themselves on a great day out.
“It was wonderful to see so many families and their fur babies having a great time – the competitions were a definite highlight and residents loved the socialising opportunities and showcasing their much-loved friends,” Mayor Roberts said.
“I’m sure a lot of residents are already eagerly anticipating next year’s event – I know I am!”
Wanneroo resident Lisa Smith enjoyed taking her two fur babies, Missy and Muss to the event.
“Dog’s Breakfast was such a good morning,” Lisa said.
“Our dogs received free micro chipping and a health check, and then they strutted their stuff on stage in Australia’s Next Top Dog Model.
“They didn’t win but it was still good for a laugh and great fun to check out all of the other awesome dogs.”
Children were kept busy during the morning with free activities including a bouncy castle, pooch-friendly photo booth and face painting.
The event featured more than 40 quality exhibits showcasing a number of goods and services ranging from dog washing and grooming to house sitting and doggy day care.
Dog’s Breakfast was sponsored by Wanneroo Times, Houndstooth Studios and WA Pet Project.
