Residents urged to obey signs during feral animal control program

Residents and visitors to the City's coastal foreshore reserves and Kinsale Park are asked to obey signage and stick to formalised access tracks – while feral animal control programs are undertaken.
The annual coastal rabbit and fox control program will be undertaken in March and April within the foreshore conservation reserves stretching from south of Quinns Road to the Tamala Park bushland as well as at Kinsale Park, Mindarie.
The program aims to reduce the number of feral rabbits that cause damage to the City's coastal dunes, bushland vegetation and rehabilitation sites. It will also aim to reduce the number of foxes that are preying on native fauna.
Areas being targeted will be clearly sign-posted and the City requests that all visitors keep to the formalised access tracks during this time.
Residents exercising their dogs should keep them on a leash at all times in these areas, or use designated dog exercise areas located throughout the City.
