City grants funding for community groups

Six community groups have received City of Wanneroo funding, including a $5,000 grant for a community radio station.
The Council voted to approve a total of $10,700 in funding at its September meeting.
This funding aims to assist and encourage activities that provide positive outcomes and involvement for the community.
The funding received is as follows:
- The Wanneroo Joondalup Regional Broadcasting Association Inc (89.7FM) received $5,000 to pay for a quarter of its transmission rental.
- Quinns Rocks Bushfire Brigade Cadets received $1,200 to pay for two teams to participate in the Australian Fire Cadet Championships in Sydney in October.
- Joondalup Entertainers Theatre School was awarded $600 for three participants to attend the World Supremacy Battlegrounds International Championships in Sydney in October.
- School Sport WA Inc received $1,400 for students to participate in the SSA Football and SSA Touch National Championships in Adelaide in December.
- Football West was awarded $1,000 for its players to participate in the National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour in September.
- High Flyers Gymnastics was awarded $1,500 for three of its gymnasts to attend the Prime International Gymnastics Invitational in Singapore in November.
