Coastal community hub to officially open

Residents and community groups are celebrating the new Quinns Mindarie Community Centre which will officially be opened by Mayor Tracey Roberts on Saturday 7 October at a family fun day.
Come along to see the incredible new coastal facility which involved extending the existing Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club premises and adding a second storey to deliver a large function hall, kitchen, meeting and training rooms, playgroup facilities, and an additional 50 parking bays.
There will be plenty of children’s activities on offer at the fun day including face painting, an animal petting zoo, bouncy castle and an ice-cream van (the first 100 kids will receive a free ice-cream). There will also be a free sausage sizzle for everyone, young and old.
User groups will be available to talk about what they learn in the centre, with Zumba, Irish dancing, ukulele, karate and psychic medium demonstrations.
There will also be information stalls on services provided in the area run by Quinns Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club, Quinns Rocks Fishing Club and local businesses. Mayor Tracey Roberts said the centre was designed to meet the needs of the growing community.
“The centre is certainly a welcome addition to our northern coastal suburbs,” she said. “Residents and community groups need places where they can come together, learn and celebrate.
“I hope many will join in the official opening celebrations and find out more about the services being offered at this wonderful community centre.”
