Recognition for young Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade member

Wanneroo Central Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade member, Struan Graham, was one of four nominated for a Community Service and Volunteering Award at the WA Young Achiever Awards last Friday night.
Struan, aged 22, goes above and beyond the call of volunteer duty by taking part in prescribed burning, community days and fire emergencies, even opting for unpaid leave in order to serve the community.
Kept busy by three brigade officer roles, which includes Secretary, Recruitment Officer and Community Liaison Officer, Struan organises for fellow fire brigade officers to get out into the community and spread the fire safety message.
Struan also has had a lot of involvement in the day-to-day upkeep of the Wanneroo Central, Wanneroo Support Brigades and Two Rocks Fire Brigade websites, ensuring fire notices and other important messages are kept up-to-date.
Spending more than 2,500 hours a year volunteering for his local community, this award nomination was highly deserved.
