The road safety initiative, organised by the City’s RoadWise Working Group, aims to give motorists peace of mind before travelling in the busy April school holidays/Easter period.
The Working Group also hopes to raise awareness of the importance of road safety with this simple, preventative measure.
Past inspections have uncovered a range of faults including worn brakes and wheel bearings, electrical problems, suspension issues and worn tyres – all of which have the potential to contribute to crashes.
Motorists can take their caravan or trailer to the City’s Ashby Operations Centre on Saturday 8 April, to be inspected to ensure it is safe to tow.
