The four-week movie program, which commenced last week, offers a range of movies, with free tickets available exclusively to residents and their guests before opening up to the general public.

Attendance during the first week was high, with more than 400 people attending Frozen.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the demand for tickets demonstrated the success of the City's event program, which provided free community events to residents each year.

"Creating a sense of community is very important to the City, and the attendance at these events, which bring residents together, is a strong indication that these events are welcomed," Mayor Roberts said.

Movies will continue to be screened at the City's Jacaranda Amphitheatre each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night until Saturday 28 February.

Upcoming movies include Scream, Love Actually, Zoolander and Taken, as well as the family favourites of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.

Gates open at 6pm, with plenty of free entertainment before the movie starts at 7.30pm. Gourmet popcorn and light refreshments are available to purchase onsite.

This week, checkout real dinosaur fossils plus replica skulls before the Night at the Museum screening. Children can also paint fossil casts to take home.

There will be a photobooth at the Zoolander screening special themed movies on Friday 13 and Valentine's Day plus a special Valentine's Day competition.

Screenings are free, but tickets and proof of City of Wanneroo residency are essential. Children under 12 do not require a ticket. Maximum two tickets per email address. General public tickets are now available for select screenings – see website for details. Events are alcohol and smoke free.
