The City is delighted to bring the successful Live, Work, Play book to life in an exhibition that celebrates Wanneroo’s past.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said the City was thrilled to showcase an exhibition that gives residents the opportunity to glimpse into the past and celebrate the area’s cultural diversity.
“This interactive and fascinating exhibition showcases some of the Museum’s treasures, many of which have not yet been displayed,” Mayor Roberts said.
“The Live, Work, Play book was first published in 2015 and it was such a success that it had to be reprinted in 2016. This is testament to the interest that the community has in the history of Wanneroo.
“The exhibition also reminds us just how much lifestyles have changed. For example the Germano family lived in a one bedroom home on Perry’s Paddock with one daughter. I don’t think many children in modern Wanneroo could imagine those kind of living arrangements!
“I encourage anyone who has a love of history of the local area to come and enjoy this wonderful exhibition.”
Valuable education programs around the exhibition will be available for children and school groups.
The exhibition is based on the book of the same name. The book will be available for sale from the Museum.
