Wanneroo residents share in over $15,000 in prizes

Each year the City encourages residents to pay their rates on time to go in to the draw to win fantastic prizes, including travel and shopping packages valued at up to $5000.

Mayor Tracey Roberts congratulated all of the winners at last night’s function at the Civic Centre.

“The Race in Your Rates competition provides a wonderful opportunity to thank our residents for paying their rates on time,” Mayor Roberts said.

“This generates funds for capital works programs and critical infrastructure that will benefit not only the residents of today, but also those in the future.”

First prize winner Dulcie from Alexander Heights said she was thrilled to win the $5,000 holiday package which she plans to use visiting family in England.

“I’m just so happy the City has given everyone an incentive to pay their rates on time and I’m so glad we always do,” she said.

Mittalkumar from Pearsall said it was wonderful to win a $500 Coles Myer voucher which will be dedicated to his three children.

“We are heading back to India so it will help us buy things they need for the trip,” he said.

Lorina from Ridgewood plans on using her $1,000 Coles Myer voucher to buy presents to see family in Zimbabwe.

“I am super chuffed with my prize, leading up to Christmas it’s just perfect. It pays to pay on time,” she said.
