New operator proposed for Yanchep beach cafe

The City of Wanneroo has proposed a new operator for the Yanchep Beach Café.
The proposal for a six month lease of the café building is required to be advertised, with public submissions closing at 4.30pm on Monday 24 October.
The City’s Acting Director Corporate Strategy and Performance, David Nicholson, said the recommended lessee was Bernardo Alalid, who is currently the owner-operator of the Orion café at the Westfield Whitford City shopping centre.
“Subject to our analysis of any public submissions we anticipate the new operator to be ready for summer,” he said.
In the coming weeks the City will carry out scheduled maintenance work on the café building.
Last month Council rejected all submissions for a long term lease while it conducted a strategic review of the Brazier Road site and building. A report on that study will form part of the mid-year budget review in January.
