Temporary Road Closure - Pederick Road, Neerabup
Published Friday, 9th September 2016
The City, as part of its approved 2016/2017 Capital Works Program, is upgrading and realigning the intersection of Pederick Road with Old Yanchep Road.
The works will comprise of the following:
- Relocation of Underground services
- Construction of turning lanes
- Reconstruction (horizontal and vertical curve realignment) along adjoining sections of Old Yanchep Road
Preliminary site clearing and earthworks associated with the project are complete. Other construction activities associated with the new turning lanes and realignment of existing bends are scheduled to commence during the week of 27 September 2016, with completion anticipated within six (6) weeks from commencement (weather permitting). The exact timing may vary depending upon the availability of the City’s contractors.
To facilitate the reconstruction works, the City will temporarily close Pederick Road, along with a section of Old Yanchep Road from its intersection with Spencer Road and Ziatas Road, to through traffic for the period 28 September 2016 to 7 November 2016. This temporary road closure will enable the required works to be undertaken in a safe and efficient manner.
During construction temporary traffic management will be implemented to safely manage and detour local traffic around the worksite. Motorists are asked to consider alternate routes while this temporary road closure is in place.
Whilst it is inevitable that works of this nature will cause some inconvenience, every endeavour will be made to ensure that it is kept to a minimum. The City considers that the upgrading works will be of significant benefit to the local community, and your co-operation and support would be greatly appreciated.
