City urges “Report a hoon”

Members of the Wanneroo community are being urged to play a part in making our roads safer by reporting all instances of hoon behaviour to WA Police.
Hooning is the common word used for any anti-social behaviour conducted in a motor vehicle – a car, van or motorbike – such as speeding, street racing, burnouts and playing
loud music.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said such behaviour puts innocent road users at risk of injury and was unacceptable.
“There is no excuse for hoon behaviour and I am calling on the Wanneroo community to help stop such irresponsible behaviour,” Mayor Roberts said.
"This can only happen if we work together and report all cases of hooning to Police, as they are responsible for catching and prosecuting hoons.”
Hooning includes any number of traffic offences such as dangerous driving, careless driving, driving without reasonable consideration for other people, driving in a way that makes
unnecessary smoke or noise, and racing or conducting speed trials on a public road.
“If you do witness any cases of hooning, please immediately report the incident to WA Police".
Anyone with information about hoon drivers can complete a Traffic Complaint Report via the WA Police website. If immediate police attendance is required, call 131 444.
When reporting hoon behaviour, please be sure to include as much information as possible such as a description of the behaviour and driver, vehicle registration and description as well as the date and time.
More information about reporting hoon behaviour can be found on the WA Police website.
