Major new sporting, community and civic facilities are central to the largest capital works program ever undertaken by the City of Wanneroo, announced as part of Council’s 2016/17 budget.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said the $75.54 million program signified a major investment in Western Australia’s largest growing local government area.
“When coupled with $16.8 million of works carried forward from the previous financial year, what we have is a $92 million boost for the City of Wanneroo community,” Mayor Roberts said.
“Council and Administration have worked diligently to deliver a budget that will benefit all members of our rapidly growing community while also ensuring the rate rise is at its lowest in 10 years,” she said.
“A wide range of new and upgraded facilities including parks, sporting centres, roads and conservation works will all encourage healthy, safe, vibrant and active communities.”
