Design approved for Picnic Cove

Improvements to the Yanchep Lagoon foreshore are continuing, with the concept design of the Picnic Cove redevelopment endorsed by Council last night.
More than $480,000 has been allocated for the upgrade, which will complement the adjacent surf club that is currently under construction.
Community consultation took place earlier in the year, which included on-site consultation.
The park will feature a look-out, seating areas, shelter, barbeques and tiered grassed areas.
Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said it was exciting to see the development taking shape in the lagoon precinct.
“There is so much happening in Yanchep, which is fantastic to see,” Mayor Roberts said.
“Picnic Cove will have plenty of seating areas to encourage interaction and supervision of activities, and is the perfect place to enjoy such a beautiful location.”
Construction is expected to take place in the first half of 2017.
