Published Friday, 20th May 2016
The City of Wanneroo is excited to be one of the first local councils in the State to develop a free smartphone ‘app’ specifically tailored to connecting with its business community.
The ‘Biz@Wanneroo’ app aims to provide the local business community, partners and stakeholders with timely and relevant information on business news and events.
City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the ‘Biz@Wanneroo’ app was a new approach that put the City at the forefront of embracing mobile technology to bring its local business community together.
“This free app is convenient and simple to use, and allows for the City to communicate with all businesses, from sole traders to large companies, tradespeople and mobile operators,” Mayor Roberts said.
“The information we send is direct and instantaneous, so business owners can stay up to date with current relevant news, events and opportunities in the area, whether they are on the go, working from home or based in an office,” she said.
Mayor Roberts said the ‘Biz@Wanneroo’ app provided an innovative opportunity to grow the City’s economic aspirations and keep connected with local businesses, with key features including up-to-the-minute newsfeeds on: economic development, local businesses, activities, and projects from multiple external sources around the City of Wanneroo.
The app was developed in partnership with local ICT solutions company, CommunityToGo, and is available for download on Android and Apple for free from the App Store, just search for ‘Biz@Wanneroo’.
