Inspire locals to do something amazing
Published Monday, 2nd May 2016
Locals are invited to a free event to get exciting, creative projects happening in their community.
The event will bring like-minded people together to chat about their ideas and get motivated to do something in their community.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said the City hoped to encourage locals to turn their ideas into reality.
“If you have ever wanted to do something in your community, this is your chance to get started and be part of creating some amazing changes in your area,” Mayor Roberts said.
“It could be anything from setting up a fitness group in the park, hosting an activity in your local area, setting up a community garden, or organising a street party to meet your neighbours. The sky is your limit.”
Attendees will hear stories of local communities in action and be inspired by special guest Peter Kenyon – a social entrepreneur who has worked with more than 1000 communities throughout Australia and overseas to get exciting and creative projects happening.
