City to launch new Access and Inclusion Plan

The launch event for the City of Wanneroo’s Access and Inclusion Plan will take place on Friday 29 April at 10.30am.
City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the new incarnation of the plan was an exciting development.
“The new plan will benefit people with disability, as well as the elderly, young parents and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds improving access, removing barriers and promoting awareness of programs and services available,” she said.
“Understanding the needs of our community is a key focus for the City of Wanneroo and the new Access and Inclusion Plan demonstrates how we have listened and evolved to better address these needs.
“Our community is made up of people from all walks of life and it is really important we can embrace our differences so that everyone can feel connected, valued, safe and enjoy where they live and work.”
The Access and Inclusion Plan 2015/16 to 1017/18 was developed following a review of the existing Disability Access and Inclusion Plan which recognised the similarities within multicultural and disability priority services.
“The new plan highlights both accessibility and multicultural services as a high priority within our community and provides a framework that will allow the City to effectively implement objectives to achieve the highest standard bringing access and inclusion to the heart of everything we do.”
