Last call for nominations for the Human Spirit Awards
Published Thursday, 10th March 2016
The City of Wanneroo, together with WALGA’s RoadWise Program, is calling for nominations for the Human Spirit Awards.
The awards acknowledge the efforts of those who work towards saving lives and reducing road trauma in Western Australia and are aimed at individuals or groups that have:
- promoted and supported road safety,
- participated in road safety projects, campaigns or activities,
- developed policies or strategies to reduce road related deaths or trauma,
- raised awareness of local safety issues.
School crossing attendants, parents involved in school road safety schemes, local police officers, cycling groups or other community members are eligible for nomination.
Mayor Tracey Roberts said the awards were a chance to show road safety conscious
community members how much they are appreciated.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the positive contribution these members of our community have made in making the roads safer and encourage others to create safer roads for all.”
To submit a nomination simply download a form from wanneroo.wa.gov.au or pick one up from the City of Wanneroo Civic Centre, 23 Dundebar Road, Wanneroo.
Nominations close Friday 11 March 2016.
Award winners will be honoured by the City of Wanneroo at the annual Blessing of the Roads ceremony on Monday 21 March 2016.
