Published Tuesday, 16th February 2016
Retro Rewind featuring the Vintage Collective Markets has announced three feel good bands to play at the free community event in Yanchep on 12 March 2016.
“Each year we have stand out performers and this year is proving to be no different,” Mayor
Tracey Roberts said.
“The artists are bound to have many attendees toe-tapping and swing dancing in the
beautiful grounds of Yanchep National Park.”
Artists for this year’s event include:
Repartee For Two
Perth jazz duo Ali Bodycoat and Libby Hammer have been performing together for nearly 18
years and when these two are on stage it results in a heady cocktail of glorious harmony and sparkling personality.
Some Like It Yacht
Some Like It Yacht are a Perth-based eight piece tribute band recreating smooth pop
sounds known as ‘yacht rock’, which ruled the FM airwaves in the 1970s and 80s.
Randa And The Soul Kingdom
Randa And The Soul Kingdom are a six piece band that bring 1970s funk and soul to life
with a big, classic funk sound that has a fresh edge.
The event will also showcase vintage hot rods, a pin-up parade, and free workshops and
activities to get the whole family feeling retro.
Visitors will be able to browse and enjoy more than 55 stalls and there will be many free
children’s activities on offer including flower crown making, lawn games, retro arcade games, a bouncy castle and face painting.
Young and old alike will also be able to partake in swing dance workshops and get dressed
up to have their photo taken in the Vintage Photo Booth.
The event is free and park entry fees will be waived specially for event attendees.
