High energy brass n’ beats band blows City’s trumpet

The City of Wanneroo is proud to announce Western Australian band The Brow as the support act for the free City of Wanneroo Presents: Music from the movies performed by WAYJO in November.

The Brow
City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said The Brow’s infectious rhythms are sure to delight.

“Before the headline act the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO) hit the stage, The Brow will get the audience pumping with their genre-defying beats that mix electronic, hip hop and pop music,” Mayor Roberts said.

WAYJO’s jazz musicians will celebrate classic movie soundtracks at the free family event on Saturday 7 November at the Wanneroo Showgrounds.

Tunes from movies including The Lion King, Jungle Book, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc. and Beauty and the Beast will feature at the much anticipated concert.

The Brow’s Josh Terlick describes their members as huge movie buffs and Disney ‘geeks’.

“We’re extremely excited to support WAYJO as they play some of our favourite movie tunes. Being boys of the ‘90s don’t be surprised to catch us singing along to The Lion King,” Mr Terlick said.

“The City of Wanneroo Presents: Music from the movies performed by WAYJO is a fantastic opportunity for us to play at an all ages, family friendly event, something that we relish when given the opportunity.”

Mayor Roberts said the concert offers an evening of upbeat music, quality jazz and fun entertainment under the stars.

“Families can bring a picnic hamper or choose from a variety of food vans.

There will be circus skills workshops, bungee trampolines and face painting,” she said.

Activities will also include a rock climbing wall, ‘Dart-Tag’ Nerf zone and a photo booth.

Tickets are essential and will be available exclusively to City of Wanneroo residents from 9am Monday 5 October.

They will then open to those who live outside the City from 9am Monday 19 October.

Tickets will be available at wanneroo.wa.gov.au/concert
