The holiday season has come and gone in a flash, but the City’s summer celebrations are still in full swing as the Events Season reaches the halfway mark.

The City’s events will continue to enliven our neighbourhoods until the end of May, with the first half of the season drawing impressive crowds.

Banksia Grove Fun Fest in October kicked off the exciting six-month schedule of events, with 2,500 people visiting Grandis Park to enjoy the festivities.

Ridgewood Evening in the Park also attracted more than 2,000 people, while over 1,000 locals gathered for Sunset Sounds in Alkimos.

With a parade and an appearance from Santa himself, the Christmas Fiesta has been the season’s most popular event to date, drawing 3,500 people to the Wanneroo Town Centre for festive fun.

Wanneroo Mayor Linda Aitken shared her excitement for the upcoming events and encouraged members of the community to make the most of the celebrations.

“There are still six exciting events ahead this season, with the Wanneroo Festival and Symphony under the Stars being two big nights to look forward to,” she said.

“We’re proud to host exciting and interesting events in every corner of our City, and hope to see even more people getting behind these free events in 2025, right until our season comes to a close on 25 May.”

Attention now turns to the highly anticipated Wanneroo Festival on Saturday 1 February.

The free Festival at the Wanneroo Showgrounds will celebrate the traditional music, dance, food and art from the many cultures that make up our diverse community.

Enjoy a unique experience, with music from around the globe and spectacular cultural performances.

Food lovers can tuck into treats from vendors like Hoki Bao, Halal Bros, Passaparola Pizzeria, Burnz Charcoal Chicken, Torch my Brulee and Osakaya Okonomyaki, just to name a few.

Entertainment and activities for kids includes face painting, electronic animal rides, wheelchair tennis, carnival rides, showbags and go karts.

The 2025 Wanneroo Festival will run from 4-9pm. More information can be found at the Wanneroo Festival event page.
