City funded scholarship developing future entrepreneurs

Clarkson resident Lisa Wright has been awarded the City of Wanneroo funded scholarship for the 2024 Curtin Ignition Program.

The one-week intensive educational program, facilitated by Curtin University, assists entrepreneurs, business professionals, and innovators in testing and refining their business ideas for market.

An important requirement for participants is a passionate commitment to transforming their ideas into tangible business ventures.

Lisa was awarded a place in the program for her unique business idea relating to sustainable seafood manufacturing.

“I’m very grateful for receiving the City of Wanneroo Curtin Ignition scholarship. This is an incredible opportunity for me and my business venture,” she said.

 “This program will be instrumental in refining my business plan, and I am excited to explore the possibilities of expanding into international markets.

“I encourage any local business owner in need of support to contact the City, as there are various opportunities available to assist you and the growth of your business.”

Mayor Linda Aitken said the Curtin Ignition Program is a great initiative Council is thrilled to be a part of and sponsor.

“This program enables local entrepreneurs to learn valuable skills to grow a profitable business,” she said.

“Successful small businesses result in the creation of sustainable economic growth for our community, a significant focus area of our economic development strategy.”

The Curtin Ignition Program runs from 1 to 6 September 2024.
