Under the new agreement, the City will continue as a major sponsor of the Show, supporting its successful delivery through to 2026/27.

The partnership underscores the City's dedication to the much-loved event, which takes place each November at the Wanneroo Showgrounds, and has become a staple on the region’s calendar.

One of the longest-running agricultural shows in Western Australia, the two-day event celebrates the unique agricultural, horticultural and associated industries that define Wanneroo's rich history.

Attracting over 15,000 visitors annually, the Show provides an affordable and family-friendly outing for the local community, offers valuable exposure for local businesses and highlights Wanneroo as a prime tourism destination.

Over the life of the agreement, the City will collaborate closely with the Society’s volunteer committee to ensure the ongoing success of the event, providing support in various areas such as waste management, ground maintenance and health approval services, valued at $23,800 annually.

A further $3,000 in cash contributions each year will support Show entertainment and community marquees.

Mayor Linda Aitken shared her enthusiasm for the renewed partnership.

"The Wanneroo Agricultural Show is a highlight for our community, bringing people together and celebrating our agricultural and horticultural heritage, with exhibits, competitions and entertainment,” she said.

“We look forward to another three years of celebrating the community spirit the Show embodies and supporting the event to ensure it remains a vibrant and integral part of our community life.”

The Wanneroo Agricultural Society also welcomed the City’s support.

"The ongoing working relationship with the City of Wanneroo is crucial to the success of the Show,” Society President Dot Newton said.

“Along with our volunteers, the sponsorship allows us to enhance the experience for attendees and participants alike.”
