Comment to recode
Published Wednesday, 24th June 2015
The public is invited to comment on the proposed residential recoding of Wanneroo, Girrawheen–Koondoola housing precincts.
Public comment will open 23 June and close 4 August.
City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the proposed amendment to change housing precinct coding from low to medium density gave landowners more options when building or subdividing.
“A split density coding of R20/40 and R20/60 in Wanneroo, Girrawheen and Koondoola was adopted by Wanneroo council in February,” she said.
“The implementation of a split density code over the Girrawheen-Koondoola and Wanneroo housing precincts is seen as the optimum solution to complex infrastructure and urban design issues.”
If adopted the final draft documentation will be sent to the WAPC for assessment and the Minister for Planning for final approval.
Wanneroo City staff will be at Wanneroo and Newpark Shopping Centres in July with more information and to answer questions on the proposed recoding.
