The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) is forecasting severe weather over the weekend and into early next week. This will result in enhanced fire weather conditions leading up to the storm and prior to the rain forecast. This means fires will be difficult to control and contain. The chance of escape from existing fires is considered HIGH.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services will be issuing a Total Fire Ban from midnight Friday 22/05/2020 until revoked.

All permits within the City of Wanneroo will be SUSPENDED from this time and the City’s Chief Bushfire Control Officer is reminding everyone to ensure any existing burns are fully extinguished and left safe prior to the impending weather.

The forecast weather will bring with it strong damaging winds and you are reminded to refer to the BoM website and www.emergency.wa.gov.au for the latest warnings and information.

Remember for non-life threating assistance for storm damage, contact the SES on 132 500.
