This free family event returns to Yanchep National Park on 22 February 2020 and will celebrate all things retro from music to fashion to hot rods and everything in between.

Nine piece Perth band The Milford Street Shakers will headline Retro Rewind taking audiences on a soulful journey through the 1950s to 1970s. Lead vocalist Lee Morunga is sure to delight fans of James Brown, Etta James and Aretha Franklin with her energetic renditions of their classic songs.

The band will be supported by WAMAwards nominees, Randa and The Soul Kingdom, who’ve bought deep funk sounds to festivals across Australia and Europe, entertaining audiences with their high energy, dance-inducing sets.

There will be opportunities to buy retro treasures at the Vintage Collective Markets and young and old will be able to join in rockabilly and go-go dancing workshops. There will also be lawn games, a bouncy castle, face painting and much more.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said Retro Rewind was always a great family day out and this year will be no exception.

“As well as the wonderful retro-inspired attractions, families will be able to enjoy Yanchep National Park itself,” said Mayor Roberts.

“It is a truly a beautiful feature of the City’s northern corridor and new growth following the December bushfires makes Yanchep Park a perfect backdrop for such a vibrant and lively event.”

Park entry fees will be waived for the event which will run from 1pm to 5pm.
