Twenty three teams, including teachers from local secondary schools, competed at the City’s annual Corporate Charity Golf Day on 17 October 2019.

The event has been running since 2001 and has raised more than $667,500 over the years.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the City was proud to support YouthCARE’s school chaplaincy program.

“YouthCARE’s chaplaincy service provides a supportive environment and help for young people as they navigate their way through life’s challenges, especially the sometimes negative impact of social media,” Mayor Roberts said.

“The City is very grateful to the many local businesses, developers, and groups who participated and contributed to this fundraiser.”

YouthCARE North Coast Area Chaplain Steve Jansz said the money raised would fund services at Butler College, Mindarie Senior College, Clarkson Community High School, Wanneroo Secondary College, Girrawheen Senior High School, and Yanchep Secondary College.

“This funding enables each school to provide an extra half day of chaplaincy services per week to students,” Mr Jansz said.

“Schools have limited resources to allocate to chaplaincy services so we are very appreciative of this contribution by the City and local businesses.”

The City is very appreciative of the support for the event and sincerely thanks:
