Youth Team Travel to Butler - all ages

City of Wanneroo youth trailer

When: Monday 1 July 2024 // 12pm to 3pm
Where: Kingsbridge Park, Corner of Kingsbridge Boulevard and Connolly Drive, Butler.
Cost: FREE

The Youth Team is visiting Butler!

Join us at Kingsbridge Park where they will bring the youth trailer filled with fun activities. Challenge our team or your friends and family to footy drills and competitions with the West Perth Falcons, giant games or get creative with our art activities and the team will fire up the barbeque for a tasty sausage sizzle!

Noongar Weather Wheels - ages 7+

Noongar Weather Wheel

When: Tuesday 2 July // 10:30am to 11:30am 
Where: Girrawheen Library, 6 Patrick Ct, Girrawheen
Cost: FREE - Booking essential

Make your own six seasons weather wheel. 

Celebrate NAIDOC week and learn more about the Noongar weather seasons. This six season calender shares the traditional weather knowledge gathered by the Noongar people over thousands of years.  Once your weather wheel is constructed you can add your own dot painting design to the front. Rotate the wheel to reveal each season and discover what nature is doing at every stage of the year.

Flaming Bites - Woodfire Pizza Workshop - ages 12 to 18

Simple Loom Weaving Workshop - ages 7+ and parents/carers

Get weaving with a simple loom and found materials.

Join us at the library as we host inspiring presenter and artist Jodie Davidson for a reuse and recycle craft session.  

Aimed at young children, this fun hands-on session will explore making a loom and then using it to weave a creation that can be added to or made multiple times at home. Using string from t-shirts and other repurposed materials, this workshop offers a family activity that show how to re-use old materials to make treasured pieces.

Silent Disco - ages 9 to 12

Putt and Play Mini Golf and Games Day - all ages

Enjoy an afternoon of putt putt, hot chocolate and giant games (including Guess who). Challenge your family and friends in unlimited rounds of minigolf and other giant games. We will provide you with a delicious sausage sizzle!

Rainbows and Waterfalls - ages 4+

Learn about rainbows and waterfalls with Faerie Cara.

Splish, splash, splosh into the library this winter as we celebrate the water cycle and rainbows.

We'll be sharing stories, songs and a nature craft activity. Explore how important it is to look after our water.

The Youth Team is visiting Landsdale!

Come and have a chat to the Youth Team and enjoy the sweet aromas of fluffy pancakes and steaming mugs of rich hot chocolate - the perfect comfort foods for a chilly winter's day.  Have a go at some giant games, challenge friends, family or test your strength against our staff in a game of Tug of War.

Makuru Art and Deadly Science Day - all ages

The Youth team will be running a Makuru art and deadly science session at the Clarkson Youth Hub! Supporting young people to create some Makuru inspired art pieces and deadly science experiments whilst learning more about the season.  There will also be a yummy warm lunch and other games and activities to enjoy! The Noongar six seasons brings us the season of 'Makuru'.

NAIDOC Week - Tree Planting Day - all ages

In celebration of NAIDOC Week, we welcome the community to Kalbarri Park, Yanchep , to celebrate and recognise history and culture. With specials guests  acknowledging country and sharing their knowledge.

You will have the opportunity to take part in weaving activities, tree planting and learning how to make damper!

Level Up - Barista Fundamentals - ages 14 to 24 - FULLY BOOKED

Where: Brew Coffee Roasters, Unit 12, 9 Inspiration Drive, Wangara.
Cost: $30

Level-up: Toast it, Roast it, Drink it!

Trying to get your foot in the door for work? This is a hands-on class that has been designed for people with little to no barista experience who are wanting to learn all the necessary skills and techniques required to break into the industry and gain employment as a Barista.  

The class is delivered in a fun, relaxed setting by a highly experience Head Barista, where participants will learn how to make all the coffees they see in their local café, including some valuable tricks of the trade.
