Aquamotion upgrades

We’re investing in making Aquamotion better for you.

We’re excited to share the news of more than $1.5 million worth of upgrades that will take place over coming months to improve safety and the standard of our facility, and enhance your experience.

We aim to keep disruptions to a minimum but we will need to close the pool and spa area for a short period in July to complete upgrades in the area.

Key information you need to know:

Commencing April 2024

Solar panels

Rooftop solar panels are being replaced which will affect access to the outdoor area from 15 April – 11 May 2024 (noting our outdoor aquatic areas are already closed for the season).

Hot water systems

The facilities’ hot water systems will also be replaced. Hot water in the Program Pool area showers will not be available from Thursday 23 April 2024 but are expected to be back up and running by Thursday 9 May 2024.

Commencing May 2024

Drowning prevention technology

We’ll be one of the first leisure centres in Western Australia to introduce an exciting, cutting-edge technology in our pools which continually tracks movement in the water. When an issue is identified, an alert will be sent to our lifeguard’s smartwatches, helping them respond faster to potential drownings.

This work is scheduled to take place from the 3 May to August 2024 and should not impact customers aside from access to the outdoor area (noting our outdoor aquatic areas are already closed for the season).

Commencing July 2024

Indoor 25m pool and leisure pool

Electrical works and flooring treatments will take place over two weeks from 1 July – 14 July. During this time both pools will be closed.

Spa

Due to works happening in the indoor pool area, the spa will be closed for one week from 1 July – 7 July.

Outdoor area

We’re planning some exciting updates to our outdoor space just in time for summer fun! We look forward to sharing more about this a little closer to the date so stay tuned.

Membership options

While the indoor 25m pool, leisure pool and spa areas are closed, Bronze Aquatics members will have the option to temporarily switch to a Gym or Group Fitness membership, or suspend their membership at no charge. Members will need to request this in writing to our Health and Fitness team at gymstaff@wanneroo.wa.gov.au by Wednesday 26 June.

Aquarobics group fitness classes will be replaced with low impact land-based classes in the Group Fitness room as found in the group fitness timetable for 1 to 14 July 2024.

General Information

These improvement and safety upgrades will not affect our swim school program, Program Pool, gym or group fitness classes.

The timeframes for the works are estimates only and may change. All efforts will be made to minimise any inconvenience and we will endeavour to communicate any changes as soon as possible. We suggest following our Wanneroo Aquamotion Facebook page for the most up to date information.

While we’re excited to deliver these improvements, we acknowledge they may disrupt use of the centre and thank all our members for their understanding and cooperation during this time.
