Ever dreamt of being the Mayor? City of Wanneroo is teaming up with the Wanneroo Show, to give one lucky child the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be the 2024 Mini Mayor! 

Being Mini Mayor comes with a stack of important tasks – such as joining Wanneroo Mayor onstage for the official opening of this year’s Wanneroo Show and starting the fireworks finale.

We’ll roll out the red carpet and treat the Mini Mayor as our special guest for the evening. The lucky winner will unlock exclusive access to the show, such as: 

  • Free entry to the show for you and your family for Friday 15 November
  • A free showbag filled with tasty goodies 
  • Free rides in Sideshow Alley 
  • A $100 food voucher redeemable on the night
  • Plus, one-of-a-kind Mini Mayor merchandise

Two runners-up will also receive a free family pass (two adults, two children) to the show for Friday 15 November.

Entries will open on Friday 4 October, simply complete the application below with assistance of a parent/guardian and upload a video up to 30 seconds for your chance to win.

Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. This Competition is a promotion run by the City of Wanneroo ("Promoter") ABN 64 295 981 165.
  2. Entries and information on Prizes and how to enter form part of these Terms and Conditions.
  3. Participation in this Competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  4. Entry to this Competition is open to City of Wanneroo residents only.
    1. To be eligible, applicants must be aged 12 years and under.
    2. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate family members are ineligible to enter.
  5. Applications must be received on or before Sunday 20 October 2024 to be eligible.
  6. The Competition commences Friday 4 October 2024 and ends on Sunday 20 October 2024 ("Competition Period").
  7. One (1) winner will be selected from the eligible entries received (“Winner”)
    1. The winner will be judged according to the quality of their video submission on the City of Wanneroo’s online entry form.
  8. The Promoter's decision in relation to all aspects of this Competition is final and binding on all who enter and no correspondence will be entered into.
  9. The winner must be available on the evening of Friday 15 November 2024 to attend the opening ceremony of the 2024 Wanneroo Agricultural Show (the “Event”).
    1. If the winner is unavailable to attend the opening ceremony of the Event, they will forfeit their entry and a new winner will be selected from the eligible entries received.
    2. The winner’s parent or legal guardian must accompany the winner at all times during the above event.
    3. The Promoter may propose additional Mini Mayor tasks as agreed by both parties.
  10. The winner will receive:
    1. 1x family pass (to the value of $47, valid for two adults and two children) and/or entry to the 2024 Wanneroo Agricultural Show for the evening for themselves and their parent or legal guardian.
    2. VIP parking adjacent to the Margaret Cockman Pavilion
    3. A showbag to the value of $30
    4. 4x sideshow Alley ride tokens
    5. 1x family meal voucher (up to the value of $100, redeemable at select show vendors)
    6. An exclusive invite to accompany the Mayor of Wanneroo onstage for the official opening of the 2024 Wanneroo Agricultural Show.
    7. 1x Mini Mayor t-shirt and 1x certificate as a keepsake.
  11. 2x runners-up will each receive 1x family pass (to the value of $47) and/or entry to the 2024 Wanneroo Agricultural Show for the evening of Friday 15 November 2024 for themselves and their parent or legal guardian.
  12. By accepting the Prize, the Winner and by extension the Winner’s parent or legal guardian consents to Promoter using photographers and/or video taken by authorised City photographers.
    1. Photographs and/or video may be used for promotional and related purposes in City publications, internet site or on the City’s social media platforms.
    2. Copyright over the photographs and/or video remains with the Promoter and the Promoter may allow third parties (who sponsor or participate in the Event) to use the photographs and/or video for similar purposes.
  13. Prize components may alter at the discretion of the Promoter.
  14. Prizes are not refundable or redeemable for cash.
  15. Prizes are subject to availability and all other relevant Terms and Conditions.
  16. The Winner will be notified by phone, email or mail of their entry into the Mini Mayor 2024 competition.
  17. The Promoter will not be liable for any costs associated with claiming a Prize.
  18. The information that entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting the Competition. By entering this Competition entrants consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in these Terms and Conditions.
  19. The Winner’s first name and suburb or property will be shared in media and marketing material associated with the Competition and the Event.
  20. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following:
    1. any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
    2. any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
    3. any entry or Prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
    4. any variation in Prize value to that stated in these conditions of entry;
    5. any tax liability incurred by a Winner or entrant;
    6. participation in the Competition; and/or
    7. redemption of the Prize,
    and this includes, without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
  21. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition, or for any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of this Competition. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
