All dates for the City of Wanneroo 2023 Local Government Ordinary Election can be viewed on the Western Australia Electoral Commission website.

Key Dates and Information 

The City of Wanneroo Local Government Election will be held on Saturday, 21 October 2023.

The October 2023 elections will be for the Mayor and seven Councillor positions.

The terms of the below Council Members will expire in 2023. They are eligible for re-election:

  • Linda Aitken JP (Mayor)
  • Frank Cvitan JP (Central Ward Councillor)
  • Jacqueline Huntley (Central-East Ward Councillor)
  • Vinh Nguyen (South-West Ward Councillor)
  • Glynis Parker (North-East Ward Councillor)
  • Brett Treby (Deputy Mayor, South Ward Councillor)

There are also two vacant Councillor positions to be filled:

  • One Central West Ward Councillor
  • One North Ward Councillor  

When is the last day I can enrol to vote in the 2023 elections?

Residents

People who live in the City are automatically enrolled if they are on the State Electoral Roll. They must be enrolled on this roll by 5pm, Friday 25 August 2023. Contact the Western Australian Electoral Commission on 13 63 06 (WA only) or (08) 9214 0400 with any enquires.

Owner or Occupier 

Applications will close at 5pm, Friday 25 August 2023. The City of Wanneroo will notify all applicants for this roll of the outcome of their application by 5pm, Friday 8 September 2023.

When do nominations for candidates open and close?

  • Open - Thursday 31 August 2023
  • Close - Thursday 7 September 2023 at 4pm

When does voting close for the 2023 election?

All ballot (voting) papers must be returned by 6pm, Saturday 21 October 2023 at the latest to be included in the count for the election.

Ballots can be lodged via post or in-person at the Civic Centre, 23 Dundebar Road Wanneroo. The instructions that are provided with your ballot must be followed to ensure an eligible vote is submitted.
