Criterium Track - Splendid Park, Yanchep

Located at Splendid Park, Yanchep, the Criterium track is the first of its kind in the state and supports casual riding, racing, bike education as well as state and national events. It can also be used for other non-motorised wheeled sports. 

The 1.38km custom built Criterium track winds its way around Splendid Parks ovals and hard courts and measures 6m wide, with an 8m wide finishing straight for 200m. 

The track includes:

  • An electronic timing system with an LED display screen, compatible with the MYLAPS timing system.
  • Permanent pit area, including a registration shelter, bike racks and dedicated areas for club and team marquees.
  • 17 track lights, providing low level security lighting to the track (not suitable for racing).

The $4.7M track was completed in December 2022, with support from:

  • The Federal Government, contributing:
    • $610,000 through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program and
    • $500,000 through the Building Better Regions Fund.
  •  The State Government, contributing:
    • $400,000 through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

The facility is open for the whole community to enjoy, however public access will not be available when in use by an authorised booking.

Is there parking available at Splendid Park?

There are 185 internal bays, including 8 ACROD bays. These bays are available to all facility users. There are also 50 roadside parking bays along Splendid Avenue.

 

What is not permitted on the Criterium Track?

Dog walkers, walkers, unauthorised vehicles, e-scooters, e-bikes and remote control equipment are prohibited from using the Criterium Track.
