Harmony Week runs from 15 to 21 March every year and the City of Wanneroo is celebrating with a range of community activities designed to celebrate multiculturalism, and encourage inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Flavours of Wanneroo recipes
In the lead up to Harmony Week 2024 until Wednesday 27 March, the City would like to invite residents to submit traditional recipes they are proud of, which will be then displayed on the City website. This online recipe book is designed to celebrate the City of Wanneroo history and diversity of cultures.
The recipes will be classed into five categories:
- Breakfast
- Lunch and dinner
- Snacks
- Desserts

If you would like to submit a recipe, but English is not your first language, please contact the City of Wanneroo on (08) 9405 5600 for assistance.
Please note, applicants must be City of Wanneroo residents.
Celebrations at City of Wanneroo Libraries
Come and join us at the City of Wanneroo libraries for a celebration of musical cultures. All of these events are free, but booking is essential.
- Discover the African Drumming Beat with Paul Osei Kofi (for adults) at Girrawheen Library
Friday 15 March // 3:30pm to 5pm - Let your Hips do the Dancing with Hula at Girrawheen Library
Saturday 16 March // 10am to 11:30am - Feel the Beat and Dance the Samba at Wanneroo Library
Saturday 16 March // 12:30pm to 2pm - Experience the Flamenco Dance with Danza Viva at Clarkson Library
Tuesday 19 March // 11am to 12:30pm - Traditional Music and the Bon Dance of Japan at the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre
Wednesday 20 March // 3:30pm to 5pm - Bollywood Journey with the Dance Touch at Clarkson Library
Thursday 21 March // 11am to 12:30pm - Traditional Dances of Colombia & Peru
Friday 15 March through to Wednesday 20 March at various times/locations - Rock ‘n’ Toddle in Harmony Week

Dress Ups at Aquamotion
All creche visitors are encouraged to dress up in orange or their traditional dress on Harmony Day Thursday 21 March.
There will be books available to borrow, and craft activities around education of multiculturalism.
Evening in the Park
Celebrate Harmony Week by joining in the celebrations at this colourful multicultural event.
There will be cultural performances, food trucks from around the globe, local crafts, and plenty of fun for families at this colourful event.

Harmony Week at City of Wanneroo Youth Centres
Bring your recipe along and show off your cooking skills to make a group meal at any one of the four Youth Centres. Or, contribute to a group art piece depicting what makes you feel like you ‘belong’.
