The City is seeking a Project Officer to assist the development and delivery of large and complex capital works projects within the Strategic projects team. The proposed portfolio valued up to $40 M will provide an interesting and challenging mix of civil infrastructure and community facility projects. As such, the ideal candidate will have a multi-disciplinary skill set to work across a range of projects, providing contact administration and general support to the project Director and Project Managers withing the team

Project Officer Strategic Projects Position Description

As a collaborative member of the Strategic Projects team, you will be experienced in project management and thrive working in a very busy and change driven organisation. Through your CV and covering letter, you will be able to demonstrate that you meet the following capabilities:

Qualifications, Requirements and Experience:

• University degree in relevant discipline, such as project management, architecture , procurement, contract administration, or relevant experience and evidence of existing studies
• Experience in a project management role delivering  projects within a large  organisation.
• National Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
• C class Drivers Licence.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
• Intermediate communication (written, verbal and public speaking) and problem-solving skills.
• Research and analysis skills.
• Intermediate negotiation and influencing skills.
• Organisational skills.
• Intermediate skills in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
• Intermediate knowledge of project management, resource planning and budget management, procurement and contract management principles and practices
• Intermediate knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace, including risk assessment and control implementation.
