About the position

We are seeking a Workplace Health & Safety Business Partner for a permanent contract.  Reporting to the City's Work Health and Safety Coordinator the position will apply their technical safety knowledge and experience to facilitate the delivery of an enhanced service, promoting a positive safety culture focussed on compliance, accountability and collaboration. 

What you'll do:

  • Protect our people: Help us maintain a safe and healthy work environment including delivering health and wellbeing programs.
  • Drive improvement: Contribute to initiatives that enhance safety culture.
  • Collaborate with experts: Work alongside talented professionals to achieve shared goals.
  • Solve problems: Identify and address workplace hazards to minimize risks.
  • Support our team: Assist with workers' compensation claims and emergency preparedness.

Work Health & Safety Business Partner Position Description

About you

To be considered for this role you will possess a qualification in Workplace Health & Safety, and relevant experience in a similar role. Management systems auditing experience, considered favourably.

You will be able to demonstrate to meet the following capabilities:

  • Qualification in relevant discipline such as Workplace Health & Safety is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant Workplace Health & Safety legislation.
  • Advanced computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Advanced organisational skills with ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Advanced customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Research and analysis ability.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of workplace health and safety measures in the workplace including hazard identification relevant to both inside and outside workers.
  • Current driving licence.
