Cr Bedworth was elected as a Councillor for the Central-West Ward in 2023.
He has lived in the City of Wanneroo since emigrating from the United Kingdom in 2008. He currently lives in Quinns Rocks with his family and has previously lived in Mindarie, Alkimos and Butler.
Cr Bedworth’s priorities are financial sustainability, sound governance, protecting and preserving the environment and coastline for future generations and supporting a safe and reliable transport network that supports motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. He enjoys the arts and advocates for rich creative initiatives for people of all ages and abilities.
He is a member of the City’s Audit and Risk Committee, Revenue Review Committee, Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre Project Working Group, Arts Advisory Group, Quinns Beach Coastal Management Advisory Group and Quinns Rocks Caravan Park Redevelopment Working Group. He is also the Deputy Delegate for the Catalina Regional Council.
In his downtime, Cr Bedworth enjoys spending time with his wife, four children and grandchild and can be seen running along the coastline most mornings with his dog in an attempt to keep himself fit and healthy. He also enjoys going to the gym to pick up heavy things and put them back down again.
Creatively, he enjoys all aspects of theatre and regularly attends community theatre productions. In the sporting arena, he is a rugby tragic.
Cr Bedworth currently works as a manager for a State Government agency. Previously he served as a Police Officer for Western Australia Police, in uniform and also as a Detective Investigator.
