Central Ward

The City of Wanneroo’s Central Ward spans a mix of residential and commercial areas. It is home to more than 25,000 people and many market gardens. Wanneroo itself is an area steeped in history, heritage and culture.

The Wanneroo Town Centre, established in the early 1900s, has undergone considerable development and now offers shopping, dining and other facilities including a library, museum, and galleryWanneroo Aquamotion, the City's only aquatic facility is also based here as is the Wanneroo Civic Centre, which houses the City of Wanneroo Council and Administration.

The East Wanneroo District Structure Plan finalised in 2021, covers parts of Wanneroo and Gnangara. The area will see progressive urbanisation and increased population growth over the next 50 years.

There are many events and sporting activities held all year around at the Wanneroo Showgrounds, and the Wanneroo War Memorial and Buckingham House are other popular historical attractions worth visiting.

Council priorities for the Central Ward include developing spaces for local young people to come together and connect, such as the local youth centre and popular skate park at the Wanneroo Showgrounds as well as improving road safety and building an efficient transport network, in collaboration with State and Federal partners.

Suburbs: Wanneroo, Sinagra, Hocking, Pearsall, Gnangara.
