Central-East Ward
The City of Wanneroo’s The Central-East Ward is a mix of residential and rural suburbs.
Banksia Grove is popular with young families and benefits from more than 30 hectares of parkland including Discovery Park, which boasts a living stream water feature, amphitheatre and adventure playground. The Banksia Grove District Centre continues to develop and is expected to become a vibrant commercial, employment and entertainment hub.
Ashby and Tapping are suburbs popular with young families, offering convenient access to shops, schools and an array of parks and playgrounds. Neighbouring Carramar is home to the Carramar Golf Course, where golfers can perfect their swing in the peaceful, native bushland surrounds.
Pinjar is a sparsely populated agricultural suburb, most of which is pine plantation and wetland. Mariginiup is the perfect place to experience quiet country living while still being within easy reach of suburban convenience.
One of the Council priorities for the Central-East Ward includes advocating for our residents’ vision of a community that balances demand for urban growth with maintaining and protecting the natural environment. This includes taking a proactive approach to conservation; protecting existing trees and vegetation, and increasing tree canopy cover.
Suburbs: Pinjar, Carramar, Banksia Grove, Tapping, Ashby, Mariginiup, Jandabup.
