City steps up sand drift and dust strategies for spring
Published Monday, 1st October 2018
The City of Wanneroo is once again stepping up its efforts to tackle sand and dust drift problems during the dry spring and summer months.
In recent years, the City has been proactively working with developers to manage sand drift, and the number of complaints from residents has significantly reduced.
However, the City remains committed to ongoing strategies to reduce the impact of nuisance sand drift and dust, and officers are currently performing weekly inspections and liaising with developers to implement their dust management strategies.
In line with the City’s Compliance policy, enforcement action may be taken if remedial work to address reported problems is not actioned within 48 hours of a written instruction from the City.
Compliance officers can be contacted on 9405 5000 during office hours from Monday to Friday to investigate sand and dust problems, while the City Rangers are available after hours, including Saturdays and Sundays, by phoning 1300 138 393.
