STEM Club at Alkimos Pop-Up Library: Finding the fun in science
Published Friday, 20th July 2018
Young budding scientists can try their hand at exciting experiments and building real robots by joining STEM Club at the City of Wanneroo’s Alkimos pop-up library.
STEM Club is hosted by volunteers with a passion for inspiring children to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics principles.
It runs each Friday from 4pm to 5pm during term time, and is designed for children aged 7 years and over, together with their parents.
The club alternates between two types of sessions:
- Week 1 – Children explore science concepts, set up experiments and investigate hypotheses and variables, all in a fun way.
- Week 2 – Children will build Lego robots and use block code to operate them.
Bookings are essential via Eventbrite www.stemalkimos.eventbrite.com
If this proves popular, STEM Club may be introduced at other City of Wanneroo libraries.
