Burns Beach coastal walk now up and running

Published Thursday, 28th July 2022

Dust off your joggers, the Burns Beach coastal path is open for use, a 3.5km dual use path that stretches from Burns Beach to Mindarie.

The City of Wanneroo worked in partnership with the City of Joondalup, Western Australian Planning Commission, Tamala Park Regional Council and Peet Communities to deliver the path for our community, which now provides a continuous route from Jindalee to Fremantle.

Deputy Mayor Brett Treby said it was wonderful to have the final section complete.

“Pedestrians and cyclists can now jump on the path at Burns Beach then walk, run or ride all the way to Mindarie and beyond,” he said.

“The completion of the final section is the culmination of a project many years in the making and a collaboration between our two cities.

“The path offers stunning views of the Indian Ocean coastline and will encourage more people to head outside and get active.”

The first stage of the path through Tamala Park was completed in 2019, and the extension to Mindarie in August 2020 – the Burns Beach section completes the project.
